Refills and requests

The refill queue and the online registration, transfer, and new-prescription requests from the storefront.

Refills

/dashboard/platform/refills lists RefillRequest rows across prescriptions. Patients create them from their storefront account with requestPrescriptionRefill.

Statuses: requested, under_review, prescriber_contacted, approved, fulfilled, rejected, cancelled.

A refill is offered to the patient only when the prescription has refills left and the current authorized fill is completely dispensed. An open request for the same entitlement blocks a second one.

The patient's request reserves a refill and creates a requested PrescriptionFill. Staff with canReviewPrescriptions resolve it with resolvePrescriptionRefill(refillRequestId, decision, reason, attested, expectedFillVersion). The decision is approved or rejected. Rejecting releases the reserved refill. Approving makes the fill ready, and the pharmacist dispenses it from the prescription page, which marks the request fulfilled. An expired reservation cannot be approved; release it instead. See Handle a refill request.

Online requests

/dashboard/platform/requests lists PrescriptionRequest rows sent from /prescriptions on the storefront with submitPharmacyPrescriptionRequest.

KindWhat the patient sends
registrationLegal name, date of birth, phone, email, allergies, insurance
transferPharmacy to transfer from, its phone, and medications
new_prescriptionPrescriber name and phone, and medications

Statuses: requested, in_review, completed, declined. Staff choose one with resolvePharmacyPrescriptionRequest and may add a resolution note. A registration request can be turned into a patient through the Create patient flow, which carries over the reported details.

Permissions

Both queues need canManagePrescriptions. Resolving a refill also needs the pharmacist attestation.
